Analytics Summary

Analytics → Summary is the overview of everything your account sends: marketing campaigns, triggers and automations, and transactional email from your Bridges and the sending API. It answers "how is my sending doing right now?" on one screen, and the other Analytics pages let you drill into each part.

The page is titled Overview. You can also reach it from View Analytics on the Dashboard.

Choose the period

At the top of the page:

ControlWhat it does
Period listChoose Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days or Last 30 Days. The page reloads as soon as you pick one.
Date range boxShows the exact start and end of the period, in your account's time zone. It's read-only.
RefreshReloads every figure on the page for the same period.

The periods in the list depend on your plan's log retention: a period your plan doesn't cover isn't offered. See How long data is kept.

The Summary always covers all your email. To compare marketing with transactional email, use the Top Feed Types list on this page, or the Email Type filter in Delivery Logs.

Counters

The row of counters across the top shows totals for the period. Each counter shows a short figure (for example 12.4k) with the exact number underneath. Hover over a label to see its definition.

CounterWhat it counts
ReceivedMessages Mumara ONE accepted from you for delivery, from campaigns, triggers, automations, Bridges and the API.
DeliveredMessages the recipient's mail server accepted.
BouncedMessages the recipient's mail server rejected. See Bounces.
OpenedOpen events. Every open counts, including repeat opens by the same person.
ClickedClick events on tracked links. Every click counts.
ComplaintsRecipients who reported a message as spam, where the mailbox provider reports it back. See Complaints.
DelayedMessages the receiving server deferred, for example because of rate limiting or a temporary problem, and that are being retried. See Queues.
RejectedMessages Mumara ONE refused before sending, for example because they were submitted through a disabled Bridge.

A help icon at the end of the row explains that the figures are linked to the date the messages were sent: an open or click counts towards the day its message went out. Complaints are the exception, and count on the day the mailbox provider reports them.

Received, Delivered and Bounced don't always add up

A message is counted as Received as soon as Mumara ONE accepts it, but only as Delivered or Bounced once the recipient's server gives a final answer. Messages still waiting in a queue at the end of the period appear under Received only. Opens and clicks can also arrive days after a message was sent.

Stats Overview

The Stats Overview chart plots Received, Delivered, Opened, Clicked, Failed (bounced) and Complaints over the period:

  • by hour for Today and Yesterday
  • by day for Last 7 Days and Last 30 Days

Hover over the chart to see the figures for that hour or day.

Rate cards

Next to the chart, six cards show your key rates for the period:

CardHow it's calculated
DeliverabilityDelivered ÷ (Delivered + Bounced)
Open RateOpened ÷ Delivered
Click RateClicked ÷ Delivered
CTORClick-through open rate: Clicked ÷ Opened
Complaint RateComplaints ÷ Delivered
Bounce RateBounced ÷ Received

Each card also shows how the rate changed against the previous period of the same length: today against yesterday, the last 7 days against the 7 days before them, and so on. Hover over the change to see which period it's compared with. A rising bounce or complaint rate is shown in red, and a rising delivery, open or click rate in green.

Because opens and clicks are counted as events, a rate can go above 100% when recipients open or click the same message many times.

Top lists

Four lists show your five biggest items for the period, ranked by Received. Hover over a row to see its Received, Delivered, Bounced, Opened and Clicked counts.

ListWhat each row is
Top Sender DomainsA sending domain: the domain in your From address.
Top Sending NodesOne of your pools: the pool the messages left from. See Dedicated Pools.
Top Feed TypesThe kind of email: newsletter (marketing) or transactional.
Top Job IDsA sending job. For marketing email, a job is one scheduled campaign send.

Charts by recipient domain

ChartWhat it shows
Top Recipient DomainsThe recipient domains, such as the big mailbox providers, you sent the most messages to.
Top Delivery DomainsRecipient domains with the highest delivery rate (Delivered ÷ Received), in percent.
Top Bounce DomainsRecipient domains with the highest hard-bounce rate (hard bounces ÷ Received), in percent.
Bounce ComparisonHow many of your bounces were soft (temporary) and how many were hard (permanent).
Feed TypesYour mail split between newsletter and transactional.

Hover over a bar or slice to see the full domain name and its figure. A domain near the top of Top Bounce Domains deserves a closer look in Bounces: a high hard-bounce rate at one provider usually means old or mistyped addresses in a list.

Analytics and Statistics

Mumara ONE has two reporting menus, and they answer different questions:

AnalyticsStatistics
What it coversEverything you send: marketing and transactionalYour marketing sends: broadcasts, evergreen campaigns, triggers and automations
How it's organisedBy time period, across the whole accountPer campaign, over the campaign's whole life
DetailMessage by message, in Delivery LogsPer campaign: opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes and complaints
How far backAs far as your plan's log retentionFor as long as the campaign's statistics exist

Use Statistics to judge a particular campaign. Use Analytics to watch your overall delivery, find out what happened to a specific message or follow your transactional email. See Statistics.

The two can show slightly different numbers for the same mail. Analytics groups messages by when they were sent, within the period you pick and in your time zone, while a campaign's statistics keep growing for as long as its recipients open, click or complain.

How long data is kept

How far back Analytics can go depends on your plan. The periods your plan covers are the ones offered in the period list on each Analytics page, and the Log Retention card on the Dashboard shows how many days your logs are kept. To keep data for longer, move to a plan with longer retention: see Mumara ONE pricing.

Common questions

Why is a counter 0 when I know I sent mail?

Check the period first: Today starts at midnight in your account's time zone. New results can take a few minutes to arrive, so wait a little and click Refresh. If Received stays at 0 for a period you sent in, contact Mumara support.

Why is my open rate so high, or over 100%?

Opens are counted as events, so every re-open counts, and some mail systems open messages automatically to scan them. Watch the trend rather than the absolute number, and compare like with like.

Can I see only my transactional email here?

The Summary always shows all your mail. Top Feed Types shows the split, and Delivery Logs lets you filter messages by Email Type.

Where can I see which messages bounced or got complaints?

Open Bounces or Complaints, or search Delivery Logs.
