Send Your First Campaign

This quick start takes you from a new account to a sent broadcast. It covers the minimum at each step; the full guides for lists, broadcasts and scheduling go into every option.

Before you start

You need an Active sending domain. If you haven't set one up yet, do that first: see Sending Domains. It's the step that takes longest, because DNS changes can take a while to propagate.

1. Check your sending domain

Go to Setup → Sending Domains and make sure the domain you'll send from shows as Active. Until it does, it isn't offered as a sender address in the steps below.

2. Create a contact list

  1. Go to Lists → Add Contact List.
  2. Enter a List Name, for example Newsletter.
  3. Under the sender information, enter:
    • Sender Name: the name recipients see, such as your company name.
    • Sender Email: an address on your verified sending domain, such as news@example.com.
    • Reply-to Email: where replies should go.
  4. Save the list.

There's no bounce address to set. Mumara ONE processes bounces for you and updates the contact's status automatically.

3. Add contacts

To upload contacts from a spreadsheet:

  1. Go to Contacts → Import Contacts.
  2. Choose your list and upload a CSV or TXT file.
  3. Map the file's columns to fields. Email Address is required.
  4. Start the import and watch its progress. It runs in the background, so you can leave the page.

To add a few people by hand, use Contacts → Add a Contact instead.

Only import people who opted in

Sending to addresses that never asked for your email leads to spam complaints and bounces, which harm your sending reputation. Mumara ONE monitors both.

4. Create the email

  1. Go to Campaigns → Broadcasts and click Add New.
  2. Choose an editor: the drag-and-drop builder or the HTML editor. Mumara AI can draft the email for you in the builder.
  3. Pick a template, or start blank.
  4. Write the Email Subject and the content, and save.
  5. On the Preview & Test tab, send a test to yourself and check it on desktop and mobile.

5. Schedule and send

  1. Go to Actions → Schedule.
  2. Campaign type. Enter a campaign name and select your contact list as the recipients.
  3. Broadcasts. Select the broadcast you created.
  4. Sending Nodes. Tick the pool the campaign should send through. In Mumara ONE, the entries in this step are your pools. On plans with dedicated infrastructure, pick the pool you set aside for marketing email. See Dedicated Pools.
  5. Settings.
    • Choose Send now, or Send later with a date and time.
    • Leave Insert Unsubscribe Link, Track Opens and Track Clicks on.
    • Switch on Add List-Unsubscribe header so mailbox providers can show their own one-click unsubscribe button.
    • Under the sender information, use the sender details from your list, or choose Custom to enter them here.
    • Send a test preview to yourself if you like.
  6. Click Submit.

6. Follow the results

  • Campaigns → Scheduled Campaigns shows each campaign's status and progress while it sends.
  • Statistics → Broadcast Stats shows opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes and complaints once sending starts.
  • Analytics shows everything you've sent, including delivery logs, message by message.

Your plan's sending allowance goes down as the campaign sends. You can check what's left on Plan and Usage.
